Cell consumables are indispensable experimental tools in the process of cell culture. The commonly used consumables include culture flasks, culture dishes and culture plates. So what is the purpose of each of them?
1. Petri dish:

A petri dish is a laboratory vessel used for microbial or cell culture, consisting of a flat disc-shaped bottom and a lid, generally made of glass or plastic. The materials of petri dishes are basically divided into two categories, mainly plastic and glass. Glass can be used for plant material, microbial culture and adherent culture of animal cells. The plastic ones may be polyethylene materials, which are disposable and multiple-use, suitable for laboratory inoculation, streaking, and bacterial isolation operations, and can be used for the cultivation of plant materials.

2. Culture plate:

The cell culture plate can be divided into flat bottom and round bottom (U-shaped and V-shaped) according to the shape of the bottom; Terasaki plates and ordinary cell culture plates. Generally, flat bottom plates are used, and round bottom plates are mainly used for isotope incorporation experiments, which require a cell harvester to collect cells for culture. The cell culture plate is mainly made of PS material, and the material is treated sufface, which is convenient for cell adherent growth and extension.

3. Culture bottle:

According to the shape, culture flasks are divided into wide body culture flasks, triangular culture flasks and tortic neck culture flasks. Some cells and tissues can grow in suspension, but a considerable number of mammalian cells require surface adherence, and culture flasks can satisfy both suspension and adherent growth of cells.
