The reagent bottle is a special container used to store chemical reagents. There are mainly two kinds of materials: glass and plastic. Unlike ordinary bottles, in order to meet the storage requirements of different reagents, the particularity of the reagent bottle is mainly reflected in the design of the bottle mouth.
The mouth design of ordinary bottles does not have many features, only the size of the mouth of the solid medicine and liquid medicine is slightly different, while the bottle mouth design of the reagent bottle shows different functions. 1. The narrow mouth bottle has a small mouth, about one-third of the area of the mouth, and is mainly used to store liquid reagents. The small-caliber design can ensure that the contents stored in it are not easy to spill out, and it can also avoid the volatilization of liquid reagents, so it is more suitable for storing liquid reagents. 2. The ground bottle (the inside of the bottle mouth is designed) can be maintained to prevent the reagent from absorbing moisture and changing the concentration. Reagents that have deteriorated due to absorption or water vapor should be sealed and stored (such as NaOH, lime water, bleaching powder, water glass, Na2O2, etc.). Concentrated hydrochloric acid, ammonia, iodine, benzene, toluene, ether and other low-boiling organic substances are stored in the bottle with a plastic cap and sealed in a cool and dark place.
3. The wide-mouth bottle has a large caliber and is mainly used to store solid reagents. Since solid reagents are easily agglomerated by environmental influences, the large-caliber design can facilitate the removal of reagents. Common solid reagents include phosphorus sulfide, red phosphorus, magnesium powder, white phosphorus, potassium, sodium and so on.
The special design of the reagent bottle on the bottle mouth meets the packaging requirements of different types of reagents, can ensure that the reagents are in a good storage state, and to a certain extent also ensure the safety of the experiment.
