1. Plastic centrifugal tube
The advantage of plastic centrifuge tube is that it is transparent or translucent, and its hardness is small. The disadvantages are easy deformation, poor corrosion resistance to organic solvents and short service life.
Plastic centrifuge tubes are equipped with cover, which is used to prevent sample leakage, especially for radioactive or strongly corrosive samples. The cover also plays an important role in preventing sample volatilization and supporting the centrifuge tube to prevent deformation of the centrifuge tube. When selecting this point, we should also pay attention to check whether the pipe cover is tight and whether it can be covered tightly during the test so as to avoid liquid leakage when inverting;
We all know that in the plastic centrifugal pipe, the commonly used materials are polyethylene (PE), polycarbonate (PC), polypropylene (PP), and so on. Among them, the performance of polypropylene PP pipe will be relatively better. Therefore, when selecting plastic centrifugal pipe, we should consider polypropylene plastic centrifugal pipe as much as possible.
The centrifugal tube made of plastic is generally a disposable experimental apparatus, which is not recommended to be used repeatedly. In order to save money, PP centrifugal tube can be reused according to the situation, but it needs to be disinfected thoroughly under high temperature and high pressure to ensure the scientificity of the experimental results. PE centrifugal tube can not be sterilized by high temperature and high pressure.
Generally, the centrifugal force that the product can bear or the recommended rotational speed will be indicated in the package or instruction of plastic centrifugal tube. In order to ensure the safety and reliability of the test, the centrifugal tube that meets the speed requirement of the test should be selected.
2. Glass centrifuge tube
When using glass tube, the centrifugal force should not be too large, and rubber pad should be padded to prevent the pipe from breaking. Glass tube is generally not selected for high-speed centrifuge. If the cover of centrifugal tube is not closed enough, the liquid can not be filled (for high-speed centrifuge and angle rotor is used) to prevent overflow and unbalance. Spillover results in contamination of the rotor and centrifugal chamber, affecting the normal operation of the inductor. When ultracentrifugation, the liquid must be filled with the centrifugal tube, because the ultracentrifugation needs high vacuum. Only when the centrifugal tube is filled can the deformation of the centrifugal tube be avoided.
3. Steel centrifugal tube
The steel centrifugal tube has high strength, no deformation, heat resistance, frost resistance and chemical corrosion resistance. It is widely used, but it should also avoid contact with strong corrosive chemicals, such as strong acid, strong alkali, etc. Try to avoid the corrosion of these chemicals.
